As a Canadian fella’, this always blew my mind. I love Mac n cheese.
Thanksgiving was always turkey, mashed taters, cranberry sauce, stuffing, gravy, two veg and rolls or Yorkshire pudding.
Dessert was always pumpkin pie. I guess it skews British.

*The half stick should be melted and poured over bread mixture before you add seasoning.

Layer bread mixture and butter in foil. Bake alongside bird and add some pan juices before serving. Simple, old school. My MIL’s recipe.

White bread, one white onion, sliced,
a stick of butter cut into pats.
Another 1/2 stick (1/4c) and a shit ton of poultry seasoning.
Mix everything in a bowl except butter pats. If you are putting it in bird, alternate bread mixture and 2 pats of butter until bird is full.
Outside the bird
a stick of butter cut into pats.
