Don’t use Travellers as a prop to attack Diane Abbott. If you’re not fighting with us the rest of the time - against police powers, evictions, and discrimination - then keep us out of your mouth. Re-sharing this resource I made for Shado_mag. Start there. 🔗 Link in bio

Final post for Gypsy, Roma and Traveller History Month.
Progress can feel slow. The challenges feel endless. But from small seeds, mighty oaks grow 🌱 #GRTHM

My second post for #GRTHM about my great-grandfather Christy ‘Jackdaw’ Joyce. Like many GRT people, he served in the army - a complicated decision. He was one of the only known Travellers to be awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal and one of four awarded to the Pioneer Corps in WW2.

In 2019, I marched with the first ever LGBT+ Gypsy, Roma & Traveller group at London Pride. Not because I wanted to, but because I had to. Visibility matters, especially during Gypsy, Roma & Traveller History Month 🏳️‍🌈 #GRTHM

On Saturday I went to the final showing of Public Interest by @Common_WealthHQ in Bradford. A phenomenal, immersive play exploring joint enterprise laws and their devastating impact on racialised and working-class communities

Chuaigh mé go dtí an Gaelteacht ar feadh mo chairde deireadh seachtaine seo caite. Bhí sé dúshlánach agus an-deacair uaireanta, ach bhí sé go hálainn freisin. Rinne mé mo chuid filíochta sa teach tábhairne - bhí sé an-folláin. Beidh mé ag scríobh filíocht as Gaeilge go luath! (🇮🇪 corrections welcome)

Exciting to have co-authored this article and see it published in Sport in Society this week. It always feels quite special to co-author something with an old lecturer, particularly one who taught me at undergrad

Finally out for a longer stretch on the Leeds-Liverpool canal (31.66km). The end of winter means the return of longer cycles without the risk of a chest infection. Legs were definitely screaming on the last 5k.

An amazing read, I honestly couldn’t put it down. I fear that my words wouldn’t do justice to it. My only regret is not reading this master piece earlier but I am glad that I have saved it for a time when I’m not stressed and you really able to think on it
