#Cheetah numbers have dropped significantly over the last half century. Dr. Laurie Marker, founder and director of Cheetah Conservation Fund(CCF) worries artificial reproduction may be necessary to save the species from #extinction - and has been preparing for decades.

Happy #InternationalCheetahDay from Khaleesi! Did you know this is this 15th anniversary of International #Cheetah Day? The holiday was established in 2010 by Dr. Laurie Marker, founder and executive director of CCF, in honor of a #cat named Khayam.

Recently, CCF attended the Applied Conservation Technology (ACT) Congress in Vietnam. CCF staff shared insights from our work in Somaliland, where we are utilizing SMART (a spatial monitoring and reporting tool) to monitor threats to #biodiversity.

Meet Dominic! Orphaned in 2018, he was transferred to Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF) when he was just a few days old. Today, he's famous for his purr! While #cheetahs can't roar - they can purr, just like a house #cat!

This week, we celebrated the 8th birthday of our scat detection #dogs, Enyakwa and Gamena! We treated the pups to a prototype scent board. Their first trials went well – and we’re already thinking about upgrading this DIY version. Of course, no birthday would be complete without a treat!
