I carved out time this evening to get first colored pencil and pastels of her rabicano markings done. I’ve never done this before and know it’s a tedious process. But I’m sticking to my plan and the process.

Day 2! Base coat done. I started with acrylics and then blended in some pastels to soften the black and give depth. Finished with water color pigments for a blue/purple interference that many blacks have. Very happy with how it worked out. Now many many many hours and days of roaning and ticking.

I plan to use BSky to showcase my art. While I have years of experience in flatwork, I’ve only recently ventured back into painting model horses - with new mediums. I’m nowhere near as talented as so many of the artists in this hobby but I am striving to learn and improve with each piece.

I am missing this guy so much today. I wish that I could have done more. Rexy, you left such a mark on so many people.
