Well, that is what I assumed the general belief was among Jews--you don't have to be Jewish to be a righteous God-fearer. But apparently a lot this rabbi's followers take ferocious umbrage at that idea.

Yup. What you see as smugness was in fact me just taking it for granted that Jews believe there is only one God who cares about all people. Again, I apologize for making that generalization.

Of course not. I did think it was unusual for Jews to not believe there is only one God who cares about all people. Again, the people here have corrected my mistake.

And I also admit that I believe Gd knows when mistaken people are trying their best to obey his Word. You're free to conclude otherwise.
