The FitnessGram Pacer Test is a multistage aerobic capacity test that progressively gets more difficult as it continues. The 20 meter pacer test will begin in 30 seconds. Line up at the start. The running speed starts slowly but gets faster each minute aft
I’m not worried about batted ball outcomes. I’m worried about whiffs in the zone. Just not convinced that he makes enough contact for it to work. You’ve gotta be *special* to pull off what he’s trending toward in this department.

Just feels like the premium version of betting on Spencer Jones

1) this piece rocks

2) the quip about the Blue Jays made me look at how much he had to trade contact quality for more quantity, and it turns out that last year was his best-every year in terms of hard hit batted balls as a portion of total PAs, and by a lot. he definitely didn't just sell out!

I love how broken/cheap WR progression is (even with XP sliders almost all the way down) because everyone deserves a chance to run mesh with some zippy little guys

I should rephrase — I am interested in how that affected counting stats (and by extension, how players were seen at the time)

Really wonder how big this effect was on their divisional opponents in particular

Like, are we unintentionally discrediting some Padres pitchers / rewarding some of their hitters

Imagine the things you could know if you were barred in Maryland (don’t, actually)

Have you considered that the vaccine disrupts their humors and the only way to restore balance is to explode a tendon

I don’t really understand why I need to compare Cole Hamels to Steve Carlton. We should be honoring the best x% of players of a particular generation, and instead we’ve managed to invent a statistical justification for an intergenerational dick measuring contest

A take I’ve been sitting on: using the average member of the hall of fame as the yardstick for admission is doing real damage to how we talk about this stuff. It’s bizarre to me that lots of folks who are usually smart with stats don’t see that they’re setting the criteria, not measuring it

Met a guy at a Halloween party recently who claimed to have been to Kiffin’s apartment because a friend of his was dating Kiffin at the time (FAU era?) — said he had zero social skills and was just the weirdest hang

Not sure I believe it, but I don’t think there are many normal people in that world

I’m pretty sure that the only higher power that Lane’s been praying to is Jimmy Sexton

I guess my question is whether the clubs who don’t get a year one invite are going to a) fight it tooth and nail or b) try to get in on the deal in the form of an immediate buyout and guaranteed long term trickle-down funding

Basically, do they buy that Reaganomics works for sports or not

I’m really curious about whether this sort of structure tanks the future of a club like Charleroi because they’re no longer in the top league or gives them firmer footing because there’s a bigger pile of money to aim for and (one can hope) some of that North Sea Super League revenue flows down
November 25, 2025 at 1:38 PM
How long until we have someone trying to fund a Northern European super league that tries to consolidate the top clubs from the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden etc into one league with pro-rel back to their respective domestic leagues

There’s a solid chance that you can get a really good deal at microcenter. That place also feels like an alternate reality which is a nice plus

Knowing that the haters have been wrong about him but that the truth is far worse for us has been a terrible burden to bear
November 16, 2025 at 4:13 AM
Surely he didn’t have a wRC+ home/road splits that were 50 points apart or anything crazy like that
November 4, 2025 at 4:25 PM
It’s heartening to know that even he’s against a salary cap

If you’d like to be viscerally upset, look at these numbers in MLB! Well more than half are below 50% and there are some in the 20s and 30s

They also run roughly the same (tax-inclusive) payroll to revenue ratio as the Dodgers; they’re second and third at roughly 70%

At this point the only real sell for it is the weather section, which is maybe the best out there, and even that is under threat

As with all things Bobby Petrino, seems like there’s no winning here
