If you like the #mtg #commander format you like true #oss. Wizards (the creator of the game ) has no say on the format and the community works together to balance it. They took something they all enjoyed and made it better together without needing one company to rule them all. Healthy. Balance.

With the insane pace of #tech it's important to make sure you take care of yourself! Get outside! Breath. Read that book. Otherwise you could burn out and we won't get to hear your amazing sessions or talk about life at the next conference! You matter and no one is keeping up with it all! #timeoff

I think the core of #oss needs some love. For profit communities with "volunteers" taking advantage of users during tough times and a lack of community identity besides hopes of economic attention is killing the social contract and limiting our freedoms. Research what you contribute to!

I think one cure to the #loneliness epidemic is people taking back control through #communities that work together to go far. Not just to make a quick buck. Something built to last with people genuinely empathetic about the problems we are working on and providing an environment for #growth. #oss.

Back from #olf and where I heard Maddog's talk on making #oss fun again. The takeaway is that solving problems and helping people is fun and that is what open source is about. That means being empathetic, collaborative and kind. Rising tides. Not trickle down. That's the world I want to live in!
