“Don’t make that happen again!”

Then, “Look what you made me do!”

Abuser tactics.

There are more of us than there are of them. Our sincere love for each other and our simple wish to live is stronger than their hate.

Welcome to the American Winter
In the frozen streets of Minneapolis, something profound is happening.

I have been actively involved in protest movements for 24 years. I have never seen anything approaching this scale. Minneapolis is not accepting what's happening here. ICE fucking murdered a woman for participating in this, and all that did is bring out more people, from more walks of life.

For those wondering about the numbers, especially those thinking the number of killed seems way low. Total casualties are 1.2m+ but that also includes wounded and missing. The number of killed is harder to determine but is very roughly 250,000 ish. Absolute minimum 163,606.

I thought “eliminated” meant all casualties, not just killed. Can you clarify?

These are the kills they were able to verify independently, the way Oryx was verifying losses of russian equipment. It’s the absolute minimum number killed. Not sure what MAGA or the US has to do with anything.

The Al Jazeera article says eliminated, losses, neutralized but never used the word killed, so it’s still not entirely clear.

I understand the following terms to be used interchangeably—losses, eliminated, casualties, neutralized—and that they all include killed plus wounded, captured, etc. Unless you can link me to a reliable source (e.g. Ukrainian govt), ideally text, that defines the terms as meaning killed only?

I mean the number officially provided by the Ukrainian government about russian losses includes killed as well as wounded and captured.

You’re right, it’s not sustainable, thank goodness. And the demographic effect probably fucks russia for decades hence.

I follow it daily as well. Casualties means anyone taken out of action even if not dead, and of course it’s hard to know whether someone who was gravely injured got the care needed to survive.
January 15, 2026 at 3:41 PM
The Ukrainian number is total casualties including wounded.

Not sure of Seth’s source, but Mediazona estimates 219,000 killed in their 19 Dec 2025 report. Of those, 156,161 are confirmed.

That’s 990 casualties. A large proportion of those will have been wounded rather than killed.
