I’d argue the show still pulls off the metaphor well while making Krypton an empire

The thing is that MAWS and even the 2025 movie to an extent with Clark’s birth parents use the more twisted take on Krypton to actually explore his relationship with his culture and family whereas Byrne states multiple times that his Kryptonian side is completely meaningless
