VARNEY: Some Iowa farmers are frustrated because Trump is putting $20b into Argentina to bail them out. They're worried that the administration is focused on foreign financial aid at the expense of American farmers.

These trade negotiations would have been more stable if the administration had worked with Congress to get trade negotiating authority.
Interesting color in the administration's motion to SCOTUS to expedite the tariffs case from Treasury Sec. Bessent, who says the appeals court ruling on Friday against Trump's tariffs is already impacting trade talks:

"World leaders are ... walking away from or delaying negotiations," he says.

3 years ago today, the WTO deal to curb harmful fisheries subsidies was agreed by consensus. It’s still not in effect anywhere.

Ratified: 102. Missing: 63. To activate the agreement in ratifying countries: 9 more needed. Those subsidies are still not being curbed. Who’s to blame?

Here's the UK summary of the deal with the US.

Note some trade illiteracy. Whoever wrote this doesn't know the difference between an "export tariff" and an "import tariff on UK exports".

BAIER: Are these tariffs designed to generate revenue for the country, or are they designed to negotiate each of these countries down?

Most interesting thing in this exchange: Navarro claims the idiotic tariff formula was developed by CEA.
But I'm hearing indirectly that CEA instead blames Navarro for creating formula.

So the Trump administration is saying that all the products subject to the "Liberation Day" tariffs -- most imports -- will no longer be eligible for de minimis treatment once it figures out how to collect duties on all those shipments. I think that's a pretty big deal. (12/fin)

TAPPER: You're imposing a 10% on the Heard and MccDonald islands. They have zero human inhabitants. Why are you putting tariffs on islands entirely populated by penguins?

ROLLINS: Whatever. Listen, the people leading this are serious, intentional, patriotic, the smartest I've ever worked with.

Wild seeing Trump cabinet officials and allied-lawmakers trying to tell voters that:
-Recessions actually aren't all bad,
-Collapsing stocks are a buying opportunity,
-Price hikes are part of making American great, and
-High egg prices mean we should all raise chickens.
