With rest of #Canada, we remember 22 lives lost in 2020 #NSMassKillings

We hope for a future w/ fewer lives lost to male violence, incl. #femicide & acts starting w/ #femicidal motivations.

We hope for less individual & #systemtic #misogyny which contribute to these acts.

As we prepare for #IWD2025 on March 8, we recognize & remember over 1,200 women & girls killed, primarily by men, since we began this work in 2018.

These women & girls will never mark this day again, including the women and girls killed in 2024🔽.

Did you know that, in #Canada, in 2024:

- at least 154 children were left without a mother.

- 10 children were killed alongside their mother.

#Femicide leaves many victims, both fatal and living victims, especially children.

On Dec. 31, 2023, we had documented the killings of 189 women and girls. That number now sits at 193.

On Dec. 31, 2024, we documented the killings of 187 women and girls with another 17 labelled suspicious & no sex identified for another 9 deaths.

It's time. #CallItFemicide.
