We are a weaving and teaching studio working in the Rio Grande and Chimayo tradition in Chimayo, New Mexico.

In November, Emily Trujillo's weaving Halazia participated&won New Mexico Make It With Wool!This event,hosted by The Oveja Project,showcased the process of wool production&artists who make finished products using wool.Halazia&Emily won the producer award!

Lisa Trujillo is currently working on a new Chimayo Weaving here at Centinela Traditional Arts!

If you saw the performance of "Lineage" by Zeitgeist Dance Theatre, you may have noticed a Rio Grande weaving used in one of the sequences. This weaving is still in stock here at Centinela & was woven by Lisa Trujillo.

Rudy Lee has been taking a break from weaving vests and started weaving 36X60 designs on his new warp.
This Rio Grande weaving uses natural dyes from Centinela Traditional Arts for the yellow (cotta), brown (black walnut), and the red (cochineal).
