The podcast that celebrates the films of the 1970s, whether they deserve it or not.

We’ve lost a legend. Arguably, the face of 1970s Hollywood. An actor, a director, an activist, an environmentalist, a champion of independent filmmaking. It hardly seems fair for someone to be so talented, so smart, so charming, and to also be supernaturally handsome. Rest in Peace Mr Redford.

To celebrate St David’s Day here are some of the finest Welsh actors to be seen on screen in the 1970s:

- Ray Milland
- Sian Phillips
- Jonathan Pryce
- Timothy Dalton

There were a couple of bright young things called Burton and Hopkins knocking around too, but tbh I could only upload 4 photos 🤷‍♀️

Two of Hackman's 3 film appearances in 1974 just happen to be, in my opinion, two of the finest films ever made. The Conversation and Young Frankenstein.
Both perfect performances.
What range this man had!

Hi everyone! How's your 2025 going? Yep, mine too.
Apologies for the radio silence but I got struck by a Christmas lurgy that took my voice out for weeks, and life since then has been unexpectedly full of, well, things. But keep your eyes and ears peeled for new episodes very soon!

The eagle eyed Hammer viewer might recognise these two The Vampire Lovers locations because they've appeared in at least 2 other 1970 Hammer films from earlier in the series: the cabin in The Horror of Frankenstein, and the castle in Scars of Dracula.

What do Peter Cushing and Douglas Wilmer have in common, appearing from appearing together in The Vampire Lovers? Well, when Douglas Wilmer walked away from his starring role as BBC's Sherlock Holmes in 1966, it was Peter Cushing who took over from him.

Madeline Smith and Kate O’Mara are at the mercy of Ingrid Pitt, while Peter Cushing and George Cole get a crash course in vampire slaying from Douglas Wilmer.
