If a person cannot buy or rent a piece of media, be it limited access or limited finances, it is not unreasonable for them to turn to piracy.

Instead of complaining about piracy, address the root causes: poverty, lack of access, restrictive tools, and better attempts at media preservation.

It's also been widely reported that Harris routinely ignored her advisors and failed to support campaign offices in critical areas, often forcing her organizers to form "rogue" operations on her behalf to cover voting areas she had totally neglected.

Interesting that when I say "voter outreach" you assumed that I meant right-wing voters and not the same people who voted for Biden just four years prior.

There was an estimated voter dropoff of 30 million voters in 2024 (~9 mil higher than 2020) and the majority of those (55.7%) voted for Biden.

I can somewhat agree with that. Trump's failure to deal with COVID initially and the slow economic recovery thereafter created a difficult situation for Harris, especially when she framed her campaign as "no significant change" from Biden.

There were other issues too but that *really* didn't help.

I find it really difficult to argue that the *main reason* Harris lost because of racism when Trump is making gains among almost every demographic, and equally hard to believe that it was mainly sexism when she only found any gains vs Biden with married white women of all categories.
November 23, 2025 at 2:45 AM
Again, to be clear, not saying it's not *a* problem. Racism and sexism is definitely a problem, even in the Democratic Party.

But the data tells a different story IMO and we need to pay more attention to it, or it's going to keep happening. And we *really* can't afford a third Trump term.

I can't fully agree with saying it's "the main problem". The data doesn't support this claim.

Trump's margins among non-white voters have grown, while Harris's margins among women vs Biden stagnated. 2024 was due to a huge voter dropoff + new voters skewing right-wing.

Here's a look at actual data. It shows Kamala under-performed vs Biden in every major demographic. To attribute the shift among Democrat voters to racism is...dubious at best.

The truth is that more people stayed home in 2024, and the young voters who replaced them skewed right.

There is no conclusive evidence that sexism or racism were the deciding factor.

Were they *a* factor? Almost certainly.

But there were a lot of factors in play, including their failures in policies and voter outreach, that we should be learning from, instead of blaming sexism or racism.

"Why are you worried about 2028 when the midterms are coming up in 2026?"

I dunno, because we want to WIN?

Challenging all of the fascists (and Democrats!) who got us into this situation is going to take a monumental effort. It has to start right now!
November 21, 2025 at 10:04 PM
And that's the issue, isnt it?

If Democrats were only willing to punish "regular people" but none of the instigators or co-conspirators for a previous insurrection attempt, can we trust those same Democrats to do it this time?

Feels very much like trusting Lucy to let us kick the football.

He explicitly did not imprison ALL the insurrectionists.

None of the talking heads in the media nor any of the politicians who stirred the pot and created the environment that led to January 6th were ever imprisoned, removed from their jobs, or penalized in any meaningful way.
