This was a pretty wild experience. At first the responses were complete absurd to me and I had no idea how to begin my response. But I feel like once I let my guard down in a way it became easy and fun. GPT seemed to hang onto certain things and create importance out of them.

I mention I had a ring on in one of my posts and it hung onto that and asked questions about it in nearly every prompt. THis was a wild experience.

This is a great metaphor in ways that I don't think it was intended for. yes it is a great metaphor about fiction and pushes the theme of it all But I also think its an important message for today, with so many strong opinions existing in today's world remember one truth doesn't exist

I'm posting a lot from this page but this next paragraph goes perfect with the last. Whether it is a partner that you can experience life with or a photo that proves it have a metaphorical vault or physical evidence of a memory is what gives it value in my opinion. (might be wrong)

I like this line it reminds me why humans have partners. so we can experience life with someone there to witness it with us.

THis kind of supports my last point, like the reason Baker was successful was because he focused on very simple everyday things for his subject not grand things like "the Brooklyn Bridge" and the reason he was funny was because his subject is relatable.

I think not only something real is funny but only something that is relatable.

However My previous post might be me feeding into what McLuhan suggests about us wanting to categorize everything unnecessarily. What both authors and myself would all agree on is that fiction and nonfiction is not just a black and white truth and not truth thing.

Categorizing fiction as fiction I think is still an important label because once you change something from reality it can be categorized. But a change I would see Shield supporting is making it into a spectrum of fiction to know how much it is changed from reality.

The meaning of fiction has changed for me a bit. before obviously fiction meant not real and nonfiction was real. Reading this made me think of fiction as more bending reality of changing whats already true. And in doing this there is a spectrum of how much or how little or bend reali

The origins of novels sounds an awful lot like how the start of ai has been viewed. Both described as a false reality, and something that confidently pretends that it is something that it isnt. The scary thought is that now we use novels to teach and learn from. will AI be the same??

Defoe trying to pass his book that had journal in the title reminds me of someone lying on their resume. Or the way influencers lie about there life and try to pretend it is something it isnt.

This line made me stop and think. Honestly I had to look up the definition of pretense, but I am glad I did. The way I see it this line is saying, novels were not ever fiction they were just a false reality.

In P 27 its really weird to think that the iliad and the bible were viewed as history books.

This is interesting to me because I have always wondered how these epic were remembered and put into one book. Its not like they could have just happened In succession. It shows the power of storytelling for sure.

Thinking some more about my last post, I should've waited. It reveals how our society views relationships; How its about approval from others, their status, competition and all of the staged strategy and insecurity is actually real in dating todabut its just zoomed in on in the show

The end of that paragraph from the screenshot below, the part saying that the show tells us more about "the state of unions"...At first I didn't know what he meant by Unions, but given the context it means relationships. But what does it reveal? Is it obvious based on what was said?

This section is confusing to me because the examples are all given so rapidly its hard to grasp what's actually being said. I guess what it is saying is that all of these shows are forms of reality because thats what we like but in "reality" its almost all staged or fake.

I like this style of table of contents, what is it foreshadowing about the text to come??

"...in which actors speak from a script based on interviews they conducted with Barker... a small percentage of the material is made up."
This reminds me of our SME but chat is making a script based on past prompts and turning it to an interview and a percentage of it will be made up

After reading The Medium Is the Massage and then listening to knickerbocker glory I was trying a lot less hard to break down the meaning of the chaos/ trying to make sense of it all. Instead I accepted it as my environment. Prior to reading I would have tried to decipher everything.

The transition from oceanic waves and orchestra to the clattering of a caffe was unsettling at first because I could not identify what the sound were. With visuals I would've been less surprised because I'd be able to identify the noises. The lack of image gave no clues.
