You're allowed as many as needed. Don't work to the deadline, write for the fun of it, create. Don't stress the outcomes or the story line. That's what editing is for! It will come when it comes.

Without spoilers, something pulls them together, and they're journey is figuring out what, why and how. Then they realize that's only the begining.

It did. Still has after 20 years. Real places. The main characters are from Siberia Seattle Japan Samoa and South Africa and Argentina.

She's not the main character, the trickle on effect from the moment of meeting her impacts others so significanlty their entire lives change. What hit me hardest was how clearly i could smell, hear and see the room in which she was found, still with her child. Fear, sadness, repulsion, compassion.

It was about a woman who has lost her mind, she was so committed to being a mother that when her child died she snapped. Lost all connection with reality. And others who discover her become a little shattered by seeing it.

Post apocalyptic science fiction. Begins on earth however. Inspired by a nightmare I had while in an Army training exercise. Then continued by just observant of the world around me.
