And if you have private/extended insurance you can submit that $45 receipt of payment to get it back. If you are on OW/ODSP you can email it to the hospital with your monthly statement to have it covered 😁

My friends who went into Natural Hazards said it is super disheartening at times so it’s good to make friends in your program because everyone else gets depressed when you talk about it

😂 I get it. The whole world is a dumpster fire & ppl tell me to shut up about it. I just like to share knowledge

There are farm boxes (for a single person) available for about $30/week where I am, with delivery all over Ontario. There is another site that connects ppl to the closest farms (if I can remember it)

It is what I use to make soups for my liquid diet because I can’t afford grocery stores

I like @spraguecannery.bsky.social cause they are all gluten-free except for maybe 1 product. I just wish more of it got donated to foodbanks. It is super delicious & nutritious. Actually tastes close to home-canned soups & isn’t watered down

Any fresh food I buy is local via Farm Boxes/ local line

I loves my first Natural Disasters course. It was enlightening & terrifying. One of the leading causes of my switch to Environmental Sci. I wanted to find a way to fix this mess we keep creating & find a way to save everyone and everything

Good Luck! Don’t get discouraged by the doom and gloom

Also cancelling food safety and missing targets in the USA is a good reason to avoid products

No problemo. I also use the rule when shopping and will often take a picture of the display/tags to save time at the register when I suspect it is going to scan wrong.

I let others know the rule when I’m behind them in line and they notice the price is off hehehe

Also to note: It is an voluntary program that stores opt-into in Canada. Which is why you don’t see the signs in every store, mostly just large retailers.

For sure! I was in the GTA before coming here to manage the property. As a teen I could do agency temp work. Work retail. Waitress. Take transit for 2 hours to get to work 😂

Now its 1 grocery store, who only hires teens- to give them opportunity. (Which is fine). Lotsa farms!

Willing ≠ able

Ppl just think being unemployed means “lazy” or “not willing to put in a days hard work”

Sometimes it is just fucking hard to find a job when you live in the middle of nowhere 🤦‍♀️ and have medical restrictions.

Moving to where the work is…. Takes money! What a concept!

I was a horse caretaker for a bit, mucking stalls, carrying hay bales, etc. Cleaned houses (+ some mansion-sized estates)

Not afraid of hard work… I manage the homestead solo (manual tilling soil too)

But my doctors take issue. Autoimmune is no joke. I just want to work but its a tricky situation

I was in an ER one election (not this years but the last one) and was told I couldn’t use the voting station as it was only for staff and admitted patients

I get that who you vote for varies based on location, but hospitals should have slips for all areas they service. There should be a way
