60 is the minimum score to pass. 100 is the best possible score

I alternate between hill sprints and intervals weekly, on speed work day.

Seeing Marines deployed to LA really got me looking at that 18 minute 5k. After this next marathon, it's a hard pivot to speed work over the winter.

It's (somewhat) rarely used, but CT has a broad "suitability" clause for firearms permits that allows local police discretion to deny approval for any reason they feel like. The appeal queue is over a year and the board will allow the cops to withhold evidence and rule in their favor anyway.

Sometimes our classes include Stop the Bleed as a free and optional component!

I hope you will find that aside from the branding, the course is basically apolitical in content. We make note of class and racial implications of firearms ownership and the ethics of when violence may be justified, but a gun is a gun, regardless of who's firing it

That's a prayer

Actually, I never even thought to put these on my website. Here's a link:

Feel free to download and distribute them as you see fit.

You can't fit a useful amount of firearms training into a few hundred characters. Here's the entirety of my intro to firearms student handouts instead:

Unfortunately, the affordable and widely available 5.56 semiautomatic options are illegal in CT. We're limited to stuff like the SCR, Mini-14, etc. CT amended its AWB in 2023 to exclude AR15s and similar configured as "other firearms"

Are you sure it's an academy, and not basically redlined Sesame Street level training?

YMMV (literally) but I found developing the capacity for distance first made acquiring speed easier. It's hard to accumulate the volume of training necessary if you can't sustain the mileage. Once I could run 10+ miles at a slow/moderate pace, doing 3-5 mile speed workouts became practical

You gotta do what you gotta do; I encourage everyone to explore a diversity of options.

Every Marine I've asked swears they ran faster than 18 minutes, but I think a lot of them just ran out of fingers and toes to count on. Even still, at least some of em must have been that fast; I've seen what Ripped Fuel did to people.

Unfortunately, when you sell your soul to the MIC, STEM commands a decent price. I could be making 30-50% more money if I worked for one of CT's several military manufacturers, and probably do less actual work.

"The gravitational interactions between three perfect spheres in a vacuum is complicated, but psychology and anatomy are simple" says the person who designs control panels six feet off the ground with buttons in nonsequential order and all the same shape and color.

It's kind of funny that "Proud Boy" has become genericized like the pile of Kleenex by their bed

And you had a corresponding lack of access. You usually simply could not know, watch, listen, or contact things/media/people without significant effort or planning, unless something was popular enough to be on radio/television/print media frequently.

Your default state was incommunicado. If you weren't at home, work, or school you simply could not be contacted live and not everyone had voicemail/answering machine, so sometimes you couldn't even be left a message. And receiving a call at school for anything less than an emergency was disallowed.
