about to translate famiresu as fast casual dining and nobody can stop me

*actually a bad loc, b/c famiresu in Japan are cheap as sin, cheaper even than US fast food, thereby giving the wrong impression to western readers

**but indexing against JPN incomes makes it an apt comparison, so it's fine

came across an unholy triple negative! ...okay, maybe 2.5.
three ないs anyway

倒せそうもないって気はしないんじゃないか?
>We ain't ready to call this thing 'invincible,' right?

(transposing the negative verb phrase (we cannot beat) into a neutral adjective (invincible) is a handy trick. preferable even to "unbeatable")

If you have it please donate cash to the food banks. $10 in their hands will feed more people than the $10 worth of canned goods you can buy for retail prices. Also check on your elders. Many of them will not admit they rely on these programs so grocery gift cards or a surprise bag of staples

fun fact:
my now-fiancee first became aware of my existence b/c I demanded that amazon add my translator credit to my book listings. she worked in sales at Viz at the time, and was like "excuse me, who is somehow altering the title metadata?"

the moral is, self-advocacy gets you a wife 🤷‍♂️

There’s a free application, shutup10++, that lets you disable all the shitty windows stuff with a series of checkboxes.
It even tracks if windows rolls anything back between updates and lets you reverse the changes with a click.
I can personally recommend shutup10++ if you need to stick with windows
This is the future of Windows. Microsoft wants to rewrite Windows to turn computers into AI PCs that you talk to. It's now bringing AI features to all Windows 11 PCs today, in a bid to convince you to talk to your PC and let AI control it. Full details 👇 www.theverge.com/news/799768/...

also saw Annie Murphy and Bill Irwin, independently, on the sidewalk, in the same 72-hour period. Manhattan is a world of its own

when the author thinks my stance re: "English does not tolerate repetition" is a bluff and not a boulder of a principle that I've chained myself to and that will drag me off a cliff

go ahead make all 95 characters say 了解 in a row, see if I blink
