he/him. I was c_davies on the bird app; an odd little man with a British accent everywhere else. Cat-lover; Michigan-resider; SlashGear writer; car geek; 🌈 I do not 'like' skeets; it's nothing personal it just gives me anxiety.
It's swimming back upstream for spawning season

I'm impressed someone is using it through the unpleasant winters here. I'd be terrified about road salt eating it 😬

The law changed in late 2024, meaning they could then be registered for on-road use. It can be tricky, if they're fresh imports being titled for the first time, but that's more to do with SOS people not necessarily being familiar with the process, I think.

MI will register them now! With the usual "over 25 years" proviso. There's a section in this faq about it: www.michigan.gov/sos/faqs/veh...

Honestly, I'm not sure I would be able to resist painting stripes along it

Definitely worse things you could channel for outfit inspiration

I had forgotten all about that! Now I desperately want one 😂

I mean, hers is tremendous, but that much color in clothes terrifies me 😂

If you're plugging it into a timer, just make sure it's one which defaults to 'on' when the power comes on (we got this one: www.amazon.com/dp/B0B1V3VLXF). I used an outdoor smart plug (us.store.tp-link.com/products/tap...) so the timing adjusts according to daylight hours. Has worked pretty well!

You can see the red/green/blue dots on the ceiling inside, but that's easily ignored. Before, we'd get a half-dozen or more birds hitting each week; now, they only ever really do if a bird of prey startles them.

It sounds ridiculous, but we've had surprisingly good results with one of those little outdoor laser light projectors, pointed at the windows. Seems the birds can see the reflections on the glass (even if we can't) and so know it's there. Ours is on a timer to come on during the day.

That's when you give up and load a 90 minute "How It's Made" video on YouTube

Look, once they've delivered the soup to your cabin, how you contain it is your business. It's not the soup shop's fault that you can't cup your hands sufficiently under the chowder-nozzle.

All 9-12 year old kids are a de-facto gang, in my opinion.

Amber you know this is why they don't let me approve the expenses
December 5, 2025 at 8:25 PM
They could deliver it using the same sort of vacuum tubes as drive-thru banks use.

Amber your girlfriend deserves an Autozam

I'm just going to assume this is a gang reference, Katie. Please stop trying to recruit my dryer into a gang. I need it to dry my t-shirts and towels.
December 5, 2025 at 8:12 PM
Our old dryer had a light inside, and even though the dryer tried to set itself on fire and kill us all in the end, I still miss it. The new dryer has been less murderous so far, but has no light.

I mean, what's the worst that could happen...

If you don't already follow @tikibunnyimports.bsky.social you maybe should

(or shouldn't, depending on your impulse control)

Sadly I would not be able to survive with internet access so slow. Please find me a more suitable lighthouse, Evan
