The workshop will demonstrate the basics of e-textiles and allow for a lot of relaxed creativity. We will provide all necessary materials and components, as well as offer suggestions for future projects.
July 14, 2025 at 1:49 PM
Each person at the workshop will create a pair of gloves with ‘half a circuit’ of LEDs and decorations on each glove. The circuit will only be completed when two of the gloves are touched together, either by the wearer alone or by forming a circle with the group.

This time we've planned a chill Sunday (!) afternoon hands-on learning about e-textiles in lovely Bloomsbury. The workshop will be run by a very special guest - creative technologist Sophie Nadel ✨

They will be using a p5.js extension to explain and demo the concepts and the whole session will be very hands-on as usual. You might even get to play quantum-infused music 💫.

We’ll explore 3⃣ Three.js by creating simple generative 3D sketches, embracing the constraints of limited familiarity with the library as a creative advantage.
Also, bring along any Three.js/WebGL work you've been meaning to explore, if you wish.

Hope to see you there✨!

Inspired by Tate Modern's "Electric Dreams" exhibition, we shall step into the shoes of digital art pioneers like Vera Molnár, George Nees and many others, learning how they transformed computer algorithms into masterpieces.
