We are a campaign committed to end the misuse of NDAs to buy victim's silence. Co-founded by Zelda Perkins (@zeldaperkins.bsky.social)

⚖️🎓 A top UK university granted anonymity in a sexual harassment case to “protect its reputation.”

No hearing. No reasoning. No time limit.

Reputation over justice, even though the new Higher Education NDA laws try to protect students and staff, this is how violence against women stays hidden

Landmark moment in Parliament this week.
Peter Kyle, the new Minister for Biz & Trade, confirming the Govt’s commitment to ending the misuse of NDAs in cases of harassment and discrimination.

We’ll continue working with MPs, Ministers and stakeholders to ensure these protections stay watertight.

BREAKING: UK MPs passed the Employment Rights Bill incl. Amdt 22, banning misuse of workplace NDAs in harassment & discrimination cases. Next: Lords sign-off, then consultation - where strong regs are vital.

Huge thank you to Louise Haigh MP and Justin Madders MP for all their support.

The NDA amendment (Clause 22A) in the #EmploymentRightsBill is at risk of being weakened after the Cabinet reshuffle.

We cannot go back to a UK where victims of harassment + discrimination are silenced by NDAs.

✍️ Write to your MP. Tell them: this amendment is non-negotiable.

Wow. Where do we start.
We can’t quite believe it. This is such a huge victory, and is a win for all those who have bravely broken their NDAs and for all the incredible MPs, Peers, and allies that have helped us every step of the way.

Who holds the powerful to account?

A national UK study is investigating abuse by high-trust professionals - judges, doctors, clergy, military, police, politicians - and how NDAs bury the harm.

New CIISA report shows £1.8B lost annually to workplace conflict in the creative industries - mostly from people quietly stepping away.

If we want to grow the sector, we need to stop using NDAs to cover up problems and start tackling them properly.

Read the Organise report that confirms what we’ve long known: NDA misuse is still rampant.

📊 58% of workers have seen abuse/discrimination
🔒 Nearly 1 in 3 have signed an NDA
🫢 25% know someone silenced

During last week’s Committee Stage debate on the Employment Rights Bill, Baroness Jones of Whitchurch gave what may be the clearest indication yet of Labour’s intent to legislate on NDAs

No backtracking. No excuses. Now is the time to act, and deliver the reform workers have waited far too long for
May 27, 2025 at 11:03 AM
This is a crucial moment.

A group of amendments, led by Baroness Helena Kennedy & drafted with CBMS, have full cross-party & sector support. We need the strongest version to return to the Commons.

Every worker in every sector deserves full protection from silence and abuse.

Yesterday we delivered a @38degrees.bsky.social petition with @louisehaighmp.bsky.social signed by over 92,000 to 10 Downing Street, calling on the government to end the misuse of NDAs.

After 6 years of reviews there’s no excuse left. With a govt supporting workers’ rights, the time is now.

Another testimony. Another reminder of what silence costs

NDA misuse isn’t rare, it’s systemic. Across education, media, healthcare...
Not isolated cases, but a culture of enforced silence

🗓️ MPs & Peers: join us May 7 (5–6.30PM) in Parliament to hear why reform must go further

BREAKING: @laylamoran.bsky.social just asked Keir Starmer
about NDA misuse at PMQs.

This is a huge moment.

We now have a public commitment from the Prime Minister - and with the Employment Rights Bill still in play, the opportunity for real legislative reform is within reach.

This is just one of hundreds of testimonies we’ve received at CBMS.

If you’ve signed an NDA for whistleblowing, you can legally tell your MP. They’re a ‘Prescribed Person’.

Use our template letter and share your story. Real change starts with being heard.

If the Opposition's Business Spokesperson is speaking up more clearly for workers’ rights than the party that's meant to be championing them… something’s not right.

Last week’s NDA debate showed clear cross-party support. The govt must act: no worker should be silenced.
April 8, 2025 at 7:57 AM
Great to see @laylamoran.bsky.social on @lbc.co.uk with Andrew Marr, calling out the misuse of NDAs in workplaces across the country.

NDAs have far outgrown their original purpose. While headlines focus on high-profile cases, it’s lower-income and vulnerable workers who are most harmed.
April 4, 2025 at 9:22 AM
Tomorrow at 9:30am,
@louisehaighmp.bsky.social is leading a Westminster Hall Debate on govt policy surrounding NDAs, and how extend legislation so all workers are protected.

We’re putting this issue in front of Parliament - now we need you to continue the fight.

Write to your MP!

Know any Lords or Baronesses? 👀

This Thursday, the Employment Rights Bill moves to its second stage in the @houseoflords.parliament.uk!

Let’s make sure we get as many voices as possible to speak up in favour of an amendment to ban the misuse of NDAs. 🏛️⚖️

66 MPs backed @louisehaighmp.bsky.social's NDA amendment, yet the govt still looks away. We shouldn’t need parliamentary privilege to expose abuse.

Regulators know. Lawyers profit by forcing quick settlements under the guise of protecting the victim. What will it take?

A huge thank you to Louise Haigh MP for bringing the issue of NDAs and their horrific misuse front and centre into the House of Commons today.

Why is it that parliamentary privilege should have to be used to expose the wrongdoing of organisations?
March 11, 2025 at 4:25 PM
This is seen in the UK too. Some lawyers profit from making victims sign NDAs, pushing quick settlements for higher fees, and sometimes taking 50% of payouts through "contingency fees".

Urgent reform in lawyers' regulation is needed.
