Is there a link for this study? Thanks!

I was thinking I should get a screenshot of that! Because, literally anyone who has visited the Big Island would be confused. But, volcanoes are supposed to be pointy, so maybe shield volcanoes are just not as popular?

Although I don't know if the holographic projection will screenshot well 😆

Yup 🤣

Full disclosure, I only made it through one and a half episodes before I had to pause, so far 😆

Yes, they had a really big budget 🥸

I was just looking at the local radar view and at first thought I was misunderstanding what I saw, until I realized the rain was moving in from the east 🤔

U.S. Army did bomb Mauna Loa in 1935.

“A total of 20 of the 600-pound bombs were dropped on the lava channels. Fifteen struck the margins, while five others made direct hits, spraying molten rock in all directions.”

It's totally under water. The widest part of the island is only ~90 miles.

That is in the first few minutes, so I knew it had to be bad 😆

That is a fascinating read! I bet this series is what was referred to as "Crisis Earth" in that article.

Yeah, there are so many weird inaccuracies of things that would be widely known or recognized in pop culture, that I'm increasingly convinced it's hallucinations or slop.
November 16, 2025 at 4:59 AM
OK, but in fairness, how would anyone know that? It's not like there are maps or encyclopedias online, and really how many people ever visit there anyway? 🤣🤣

(It's really impressively bad)

I'm worried that you're not focused on the real issues here. You should be concerned about the network of underground lava canals that extend 4000 miles, covering the entire western hemisphere. 🤣🤣

I know, I, too, feel like people let me down by not sharing this masterpiece with me!

I don't usually root for the main characters to die in the eruption, but here we are.

However, then I realized there are 6 whole episodes.

They are really into saying "AI" a lot, which is making me wonder if this was written with some genAI tool.

Obviously, bombs! How else do you stop volcanoes, meteor impacts, or earthquakes?! Everyone knows that 😆

Although, in fairness, technically in this episode, they wanted to drop bombs in three dozen locations around Mauna Kea to divert the lava flows to the ocean.
