Also up for grabs is a project on antiviral PROTACs, supervised by us and the France lab (School of Chemistry) should ubiquitin and viruses appeal! Please get in touch with any questions.

Should you find yourself - for whatever reason - looking for a new set of authoritative, accessible summaries of the risks and benefits of vaccines to share with people, the NHS website is still doing a good job at this www.nhs.uk/vaccinations...

🧬 Thrilled to share our latest paper in @natmicrobiol.nature.com 📄

A collaboration to give the Flaviviridae (home to Zika, Dengue & HCV) a much-needed taxonomic re-think.

Our at-scale AI structure prediction gave a complementary perspective on viral evolution.

Taxonomic expansion and reorganization of Flaviviridae - Nature Microbiology
Analysis of RNA polymerase hallmark gene phylogenies supported by protein structure relationships of flaviviruses and ‘flavi-like’ viruses underpins the taxonomic expansion and reorganization of Flavi...

Really cool stuff! Congratulations Dan!
Our PLM-interact is out in Nature Communications! We show that jointly encoding protein pairs using protein language models improves protein–protein interaction prediction performance and enables fine-tuning to predict mutation effects in human PPIs. www.nature.com/articles/s41...
PLM-interact: extending protein language models to predict protein-protein interactions - Nature Communications
Protein structure can be predicted from amino acid sequences with unprecedented accuracy, yet the prediction of protein–protein interactions remains a challenge. Here, authors present a sequence-based...

My nightmare: “Almost 100 people came down with norovirus aboard a Royal Caribbean ship amid a 13-day voyage, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported earlier this week… The first reports of illness were made on Sept. 28, with four crew members and 94 guests falling ill”

I am delighted to share this preprint describing the structure and transcriptomics analysis of adenovirus D10 - a fantastic collaboration - and a lot of hard work by Kasim and Rosie.

Had a brilliant time at the 9th International Calicivirus Conference in Banff (www.calicivirusconference.com) - phenomenal science in a phenomenal setting! It was great to present my PhD work so far (thanks @dbhella.bsky.social for the pic). Here's to many more!
