The rubber will meet the road when they get to professional rates for AI, after 6+ years of using it, and who's going to bear the costs.

I think there's a difference between resisting due to not understanding a technology, and the attendant risks associated with the same, and resisting because you know the bill will come due. Remember getting free hour samples of dial up from AOL?

My take on AI is that the tech companies need regular consumers to pay money for it, which is why older people, who've already lived through the *free* anti-virus software, free email, and free cloud storage experiences are more resistant.
