Waiting. Waiting is something you have to do a lot when on a low income. Waiting for public transport. Waiting for appointments. Or as 👇 waiting in line for unemployment in Los Angeles (National Geographic). With rising heat, everyday forms of waiting become risky in new ways.

Chalk. many conversations lately on the sensorial, practical, aesthetic, relational and intellectual reasons many mathematicians remain committed to chalk and chalk talks. Photos from mathematical institutes in Austria and Germany - I even found working blackboards in a toilet and nursery.
