Yea it gets cast as a choice and moral, noble self sacrifice of the “truly good mom” which is odd because I was thinking that was lefty feminist researcher

True. And won’t stop bc too many folks agree with this view of male authority and entitlement to women’s care/bodies/labor even if they’d see themselves as being more benevolent

@jamannahoj.bsky.social this might be for you

It means this. Your other question is adequately covered in prior discussion about housing deposits. Have a lovely day with your feet.

. Instead of pursuing a conversation with someone who has kindly asked you to stop, perhaps think about what effect reporting a homeless person without papers may have- and how “don’t throw money at it” to the poor but subsidise mortgages for those with a quarter million sounds.

Listen if you think reporting someone to the state is as empathetic as giving them money idk what to tell you. Except thanka for your time, but I have to go eat lunch.

Surely“solving affordable housing” doesn’t mean legislation to help upper middle class people get homes and calling everyone else a problem? Have a good day! I research the Swiss right wing, and this exchange has been such helpful background.

Giving people money fixes the problem of not having money. But not sure what fixes the problem of healthy affluent people not having empathy for others.

Maybe instead of million dollar homes a solution is to say housing is a human right (even for people who aren’t perfect)
September 1, 2025 at 10:04 AM
Also not sure you can say homelessness is caused by drugs/mental illness and exclude economics and social isolation see this Swiss study www.obdachlosigkeit.ch/wp-content/u...

I live in Luxembourg but as an American I remember the housing market crash and bank bailout well. Couldn’t agree more. That said 1.4 million compared to 30k seems pretty crazy too.
September 1, 2025 at 9:59 AM
Oh you’re right - since the median house price is about 1.4 mill that actually makes the deposit around 280,000 sorry to underestimate
September 1, 2025 at 9:44 AM
lol a place where a house deposit is 250,000 has not solved any affordable housing problem but this isn’t even the stupidest thing the times has published on the subject
