I enjoyed the first couple episodes of The Pitt, but I got to about episode four or five and thought that, for all the praise I've seen for how realistic it is, there's a lot of melodrama and the characters are pretty thin, so I took a page from the book people and decided to DNF it.

It's hilarious that Trump and Friends are such incompetent babies that they can't realize that they should just throw that ICE officer under the bus for killing Alex Pretti. Instead, they are alienating Kyle Rittenhouse by talking about no guns at protests.

It's incredible seeing all of the MAGA pretend-cops doubling down on talking points like "He can't be armed at a protest!" Any halfway competent evil person would just hang that ICE officer out to dry and carry on with their evil, bit MAGA can't admit this was an unjustified killing.

Tim Walz needs to send every fucking cop in MN to every hotel and threaten arrest for any hotel workers who harbor the criminal enterprise ICE. I know he's limited in other areas, but this is something he could do to make ICE's life much more difficult. If hotels won't put them up, where do they go?

I have an interview with a non-profit next week but who knows if Trump halting federal grants destroys their budget. Who knows if this means halting Title 1 funds, which would cripple the budget of the school I currently work at. Students are worried about Pell grants and Stafford loans. Cool times.

I think about the Yapese Rai stones from time to time because they make an interesting argument about value and possession. They were used as currency and were quarried on one island and transported to another. Their scarcity as a resource is due to the labor required to make and transport one...

I was watching a video of the Sotheby's auction of Cattleman's "Comedian" and I thought "That banana looks pretty fresh. It must be fake since I know this artwork has existed for years." Turns out the banana and tape are replaceable.
