Helena Silvestre is a writer from the favela, a multi-artist and an Afro-indigenous activist.

She is the author of four published books, one of which was a finalist for the 2020 Jabuti Prize, and co-author of O sistema e o antissistema, with Ailton Krenak and Boaventura de Sousa Santos.
