Dyeing some skeins of Henry's Attic Montana merino wool for collapse weave scarves. The skeins look like a tangled mess now, but once they're dry they straighten out pretty easily. I love the way this yarn takes the dye!

Here's how the wool and cotton collapse weave scarf looks after washing it in hot water and throwing it in the dryer. It started out as a 120" long warp and ended up as a 64" scarf. That's a lot of shrinkage!

I have about 15 different projects going on at the same time in my studio, mostly because I can't seem to contain myself. Leaf prints, rust dyeing, collage, yarn dyeing, weaving. Definitely no time to be bored.

Working on some collapse weave scarves. The warp is black merino wool and purple cotton, and the weft is a blue cotton/modal blend. When I wash the scarf in hot water, the wool will shrink and felt giving a textured effect. The weft is woven loosely to accomodate the shrinkage.
