By “caving” it seems the Senate Dems are forcing the issue back upon the House GOP which will make the GOP look bad any way they slice it. Approve the Senate version and the Epstein files likely get released. Refuse the Senate version and blame for the shutdown rests squarely on the GOP. No way out.

What’s the bruhaha recently about the Tennessee special election on Dec 2? Somebody grilled Van Epps at the airport about whether he’d vote to release the files and he went silent.

In a few days? I’d say maybe Dec 2. Can’t seat Grijalva until the GOP candidate in Tennessee wins to cancel out her vote to release the Epstein files.

I think there’s a Dem strategy at play here. Something about trying to lure the GOP out in the open. If the GOP still refuses to open the gov then it’s squarely on them and they are likely doing it to protect Trump from the Epstein files which would be a huge deal. Johnson wants to wait until Dec 2.

There’s something fishy going on here and I’m not sure what is. If this shutdown is truly about the Epstein files, then the GOP won’t vote to reopen the gov until after Dec 2. I think it’s a Dem ruse to test the House GOPs resolve on the Epstein files.

Republicans don’t seem to follow rules anymore so why should Democrats? Jefferies should swear her in and then Congress should vote to release the files. Then see what happens. Democrats need to stop fighting a gentleman’s war.
