I think DIA is worse lol

This. As someone who is currently a daycare teacher, it is absolutely bonkers that the parents pay so much and we get paid so little. AND that the directors of the administration have only ever done education consulting/policy work (read: never been a teacher) and they are making a quarter mil/year

Anyway, 10/10 movie, although I just can’t take Ethan Slater seriously as a a vengeful tinman but what are ya gonna do!! 6/6

There is the emotional release of Elphaba’s story, but also the catharsis of Galinda finally obtaining the kind of fulfillment she’s been searching for 5/6

The movie version on the other hand shows Galinda coming into her own. We see her struggling to find her own power while protecting her friend. And by the end, she is actually changed for the better 4/6

Galinda also lacks emotional depth and doesn’t have a strong character arc, imo. We don’t see her conflicted about working with the wizard while also still loving/missing her best friend. By the end of the musical it’s like…okay so what is her purpose? To just make ppl happy? 3/6

Wicked, the Broadway version, is sooo rushed in the second act. I won’t post spoilers but an extreme amount of shit goes down in just an hour, compared to the first act which is an hour and thirty. The result is that many of the plot points feel unearned 2/6
