instagram sells ad space to companies selling illegal license plate wraps and there’s no way to report it. If you select “illegal products” the only choices are drugs, animals or weapons.

CA's economy shows strong growth while we slash carbon emissions. Interesting note: "Emissions from cars and light-duty pickup trucks reached an all-time low as fossil fuel use continued to fall. This drop occurred despite a 1%  increase in vehicle miles travelled." ww2.arb.ca.gov/sites/defaul...

This is a great piece on efforts to envision a truly transformational regional rail system for So Cal. Looks at all these publicly-owned tracks! We should have have 15 minute peak service running under overhead wires powered by 100% renewable energy.

It's so wild that we have tracks, for example, from Van Nuys to Burbank to Glendale to Atwater Village to Chinatown, a corridor with a probably half a million people, and we're not running rapid transit service on those tracks.

Very discouraging. The state should have a 10-figure e-bike incentive program. CC4A does fund e-bikes and transit passes as an option. But not a substitute for a robust e-bike incentive program.

Maybe not quite the spirit of what you’re going for but the bike path along I-80 passing over the YOLO Bypass.

My extremely normie opinion is that LA developers should use brick facades more.

New report on the decline in affordability of new cars. A Toyota Carolla wagon in 1990 cost around $12K. Or about $30K today. EVs have the potential to get much cheaper than gas vehicles as battery costs fall, production capacity increases and the supply chain matures atlaspolicy.com/affordableve...

The frequencies on the Big Blue Bus 7 are so good it’s like having a $1.25 uber from my house to downtown Santa Monica.

Thank you @governor.ca.gov for vetoing SB 34, which would have created more barriers to cleaning up our freight system, at the exact moment that the federal government is undermining our ability to regulate pollution. www.gov.ca.gov/wp-content/u...

Saw a lot of this kind of vehicle on the beach path yesterday. No pedals. Just an electric dirt bike.

What reforms do you think it‘s going to take to get up to LA numbers? 1000+ per quarter.

They must have been referring to all the parking.

Admiring the work of @cahsra.bsky.social and the CA Building Trades. Someday soon I’ll be down there instead of up here.

Also, these aren't going to be perfect circles, because it's a 1/4 or 1/2 mile from any pedestrian access point for the transit station.

A lovely morning scooting with my kid to school, and taking the bus home with a stop by the Vietnamese donut shop. Love to have an abundance of ways to get around and accessible snacks to grab on the way.
