I’d definitely prefer radical feminism, but right now I think I’d take some people practising boring old feminism, rather than all this… *gestures wildly*

I KNOW. “Protect women’s rights!” Just not those women. And not those rights.

I am constantly being called a ‘handmaiden’ for being trans-inclusive. And then they’re the ones water-carrying for the patriarchy…

It’s not quite as warm, but @zackpolanski.bsky.social’s Green Party is right out there unambiguously today. bsky.app/profile/gree...
Today, on Transgender Day of Remembrance, we remember the transgender lives lost to violence.

The Green Party stands shoulder to shoulder with transgender people in the face of increasing transphobic rhetoric in our society and politics.

I've not been a member, and tend to vote a little further left, but I was also cautiously hopeful, especially as my MP is the excellent Abtisam Mohammed. But then they did... all this.

Everyone I know thinks this doesn’t make strategic sense. How can’t they see that?

And the mad thing is that I can’t see a way it wins them the next election. These policies are alienating moderates and the left in droves.

It really is. And I remain baffled by the strategy as well as appalled by the policy. They’re never going to attract Reform supporters who vote on this issue, and meanwhile they’re alienating moderates and liberals and leaving an increasingly enormous vacuum in the centre/centre-left.

I KNOW. Also, the tag line has her referring to 'biological women', which I'm quite sure she didn't.

It’s madness isn’t it? Not just as policy, but also as strategy.
November 17, 2025 at 12:25 PM
Sigh. But will it have any effect? I'm baffled by Labour strategy here. Nothing they can do will attract Reform voters for whom this is their priority issue, and this will cost them huge swathes of centre and centre/left votes.

We can only hope that Labour going to the extreme will force more moderate voices to break with the government. They can't hide behind 'reasonable concerns' any more.
