How is North Carolina's economy doing? Well, it depends a lot on where you live.

Donald Trump's net approval has hit a new all-time low among American voters.

By contrast: at the same point in his presidency, Joe Biden was at -6 net approval.

A restaurant worker in Charlotte is tackled to the ground by Border Patrol agents who raided the kitchen.

He had no criminal record at all.

The man in this video is an American citizen in North Carolina.

Border Patrol agents grabbed him off the street because his skin is brown and he speaks Spanish.

They cuffed him, threw him in a van, and drove him two miles away before dumping him off on the side of the road and leaving.

Here's what happened this week in North Carolina politics.

The invasion, its aftermath, and what we do next. 💪
November 21, 2025 at 11:46 AM
Dang - how bad was the Border Patrol invasion in North Carolina?

None other than Thom Tillis himself is blasting DHS for gross overreach, and demanding lists of those detained, property damage caused by CBP agents, and their plan for restitution.

So the Border Patrol announced that they arrested >250 people in their North Carolina invasion, but that only 44 had any criminal record at all.

Some of those "criminal" records include shoplifting and driving with an expired registration. Some were U.S. citizens.

So Trump's Border Patrol invaded Charlotte, and then Raleigh, and other towns all over North Carolina.

What did it all accomplish? 🤬
November 19, 2025 at 11:54 AM
So Trump's Border Patrol invasion of Charlotte has succeeded in grabbing men, women and children off the street, widespread racial terror and destruction of personal property.

But at least it's also frozen the construction industry in North Carolina's biggest city too?

The Moms for Loonytoons had a bad election night. Every single one of their endorsed candidates nationwide lost.

The whole idea of the "M4L" was to push fringe far-right politics into the mainstream using school boards as a vehicle. But despite all that money, they've failed at their core mission.

The North Carolina State Board of Elections is in chaos, and now led by people who do not believe in fair and impartial election administration.

There's only one way to overcome this kind of bias: to vote in large numbers that can't be suppressed. 📈

Most Americans oppose the Trump administration's immigration policies, and by pretty big margins.

But don't forget: there's significant common ground on immigration! Large majorities of American voters (including Republicans) want a pathway to citizenship for law-abiding undocumented immigrants.

Punishing tariffs. Out of control corruption. Political chaos in Washington.

No wonder companies are hesitant about hiring.

Sorry, kids - your parents were just really, really afraid of the Woke.

Yesterday, Pennsylvania Governor @joshshapiropa.bsky.social signed their state's budget into law.

That leaves North Carolina as the only state in the entire nation without an operating budget.

Our Republican legislature, unable to decide amongst themselves, just quit and went home.
November 13, 2025 at 12:38 PM
Is the Republican Party dead?

Most surveys - including a new poll via Catawba College - repeatedly show that majorities of Republican voters no longer identify as "Republicans" per se, but as supporters of Donald Trump, personally.

Why does the state government of North Carolina have a monopoly on liquor?

Mostly, because we inherited a pretty dumb system that no one has the guts to change. 🥃
