In this paper we combine a meta-analysis showing that urban mosquitoes are crowded as larvae, with experimental work showing crowded larvae a more infectious as adults. An intriguing, horrible synergistic consequence of urbanisation.
Our paper out today showing that larval crowding occurs in urban mosquito habitats and this crowding makes adult mosquitoes carry higher dengue viral loads. journals.plos.org/plosntds/art...
