🗣️ “We have to put the health of NM above.” – Christine Dobbin

Christine supports SB18 because it’s about protecting our people, our environment, & our future. This bill ensures we take real steps to reduce pollution, create clean energy jobs, & build healthier communities across the state.

The Clear Horizons Act protects New Mexico’s outdoor recreation economy - our clean air, public lands & outdoor access attract visitors & investment. Pollution & climate damage undermine the state’s outdoor recreation industry & CHA reduces climate pollution at the source. #ClearHorizonsAct #NMLeg
The Clear Horizons Act keeps New Mexico competitive for investment and job growth. More than 20 states already have similar climate goals in law. States with clear climate frameworks are attracting private investment. Without durable policy, New Mexico risks falling behind. #ClearHorizonsAct #NMLeg
➡️ Recent statewide polling shows that a strong majority - 77% - of New Mexicans support gov’t action to reduce harmful climate pollution, underscoring that the Clear Horizons Act aligns with voter priorities across NM. www.coloradocollege.edu/other/stateo...

NM Diary producers decry the loss of half the state's diaries in recent years. What caused that? Drought caused by climate change.
And then they oppose trying to solve it with the NM #ClearHorizonsAct, #SB18, which will NOT raise fuel costs.
Truly sad.

So color me skeptical when our legislature convenes a bi-cameral committee to prepare for federal funding cuts. Will they likely do some good things? For sure. But I expect they'll also use the national crisis to shield O&G from long-needed climate & community reforms. sourcenm.com/2025/04/29/n...
