China has a centralized plan to dominate the industries of the future. Green tech, high tech manufacturing, Pharmaceuticals and the government heavily subsidizes these industries. The US will only be able to compete with China if we partner with other democracies to form a counterweight.

Vannevar, you are correct. I meant to say ‘… in its fight with China’.
I’m not hoping for a war with China but the US will need to boost domestic manufacturing if it hopes to stay relevant. We will need the help of the EU, Korea, Japan and other partners to stay relevant as an advanced country.
