The first season didn’t air in Baltimore live until reruns so the first one I saw was Steve Martin. We also didn’t get the first season of Soap or the only season of Norman Lear’s Hot L Baltimore

Yes, even Tom Clancy's works, which were very conservative, featured politicians doing the right thing and mocking the incompetent. The only writer who still manages to handle this properly is Daniel Silva. I can't read any of the others anymore.
