Profoundly short-sighted.

"Rameix-Welti also said that if bird flu was to mutate to be able to be transmitted between humans, the world was better prepared than it was before the COVID-19 pandemic." Oh sure, politicians and healthcare professionals have learned to deny and ignore so very much illness & death.

It's exhausting.

Hoping you feel better later today.

I'm ready to time travel back to the 80s or early 90s and live there full-time.

Public services like healthcare, education, policing, transit etc. should not be expected to get a return on their investment.

I'm so sorry about your wife. I suffered for 4 years post viral neuropathy which made it painful and difficult to walk, before gradually recovering. Still can't drive because proper sensation didn't wholly return to my feet. At least it doesn't hurt so much anymore, just numb.

currently 4 months into a nerve conduction study wait, 3 months into an MRI wait. No appts for any of this yet. Takes a month just to see my GP who I'm lucky to have - the wait is 5 years to get a GP in Ottawa.
November 26, 2025 at 10:45 PM
You're right. The wealthy can skip all the wait lists. The rest of us are stuck waiting or cobbling together solutions that involve going to lengths we shouldn't have to just in order to access medical care. I've been waiting 3 years for a neurologist appt, waited 8 months for a CT last year and am

That's so hard. I live in Ottawa and the wait times for scans (MRIs, CTs and other diagnostic tests) are higher here than they are in nearby rural areas. And Ottawa hospitals have the highest wait times in the province too. Our provincial govts are screwing us, starving us of medical care.

More and more 'falling by the wayside.' Most healthcare professionals are letting us all down badly in not speaking out.
November 26, 2025 at 6:33 PM
That's really frustrating. It makes no sense to make it tough for people to get updated covid shots.
November 26, 2025 at 1:40 PM
Quebecers under 65 now have to pay if they want a covid shot too. It's not right.

It's a shame you have to travel that far for it but absolutely worth it. A couple of years ago I did the same, crossing the border to get a shot in New York state.
