4/4 The best way to reduce overdose deaths would be to legalise AND REGULATE the illicit drug market (while avoiding corporate capture). However, in the short term, we desperately need harm reduction to be implemented since drug policy based on zero tolerance is unrealistic & counterproductive.

3/4 Bristol is lucky enough to have a drug checking service, though it only opens once a month. Many other local authorities want one but again, face too many barriers to getting them in place.

2/4 In Bristol and in other local authorities, we are asking the Home Office to remove barriers to us putting more life saving treatments in place. The last stock answer from the Home Office was word for word the same as under the Tories.
