BB, who had been dramatically basking in your pets, immediately stops.

"...Wait, WHAT?!" He spins in place and zips over to Echo, poking at him like he's checking for hidden superpowers. "You got UPGRADED while I wasn't looking? Bro, what the hell??"

Echo simply twinkles serenely.

I exhale through my nose, amused but focused.

"Now, as for your other question-" I nod toward the console, my voice turning firm.

"Yes. My systems are self-contained. The lab is entirely closed off from any external networks. No data leaks, no unwanted tracking, no chance of interference. The only way information moves in or out is if I or you personally choose to bring it in."

I glance back at Echo, now radiating soft golden waves like a living star.

"WAIT. WAIT. NO WAY. ECHO??" I glance between them, eyes narrowing.

BB freaks out.

Me: "BB, the scans wouldn't hurt you any way, would they? If you think something bad might happen, please tell us! But otherwise, it is important to know what's happening inside of you in case there's a problem later, like if you get hurt. We need to know what your normal is to help repair and heal you. "Also, you're extremely cool right now! And, I have a feeling you'll be making your own upgrades soon enough."
I think about BB in snake form. He'd be a gorgeous, gravity-defying snek, zipping about the lab like an animated ribbon rippling and swirling through the air.
