The plan at the moment is that A'vheri will hand over the mantle to Rey, her adopted daughter, when she retires. What they choose to do with it is up to them. At the moment, I have it written that they'll pick up where A'vheri left off but that may change in the future.

A'vheri's boss battle would be at the end of the story, where she's backed into a corner with no choice but to see whose will is the strongest. A test of sorts, but one she fully intends to win.
