Downtown YVR. This is winter on the West Coast!

That first prolonged hug when you’re finally alone together. When you feel seen and the day washes off you in waves of relief. It feels like it could last forever. 🥰

I've thrown a "Hail Mary".

Will it be caught? Or will it be dropped and the game over?

I've gone from "monthly" regular to "a few times a year" regular on several occasions over the past decade, due to someone's semi-retirement, change in boundaries or work reduction.

I'm highly flexible. I adapt easily when it's for the right person and when the connection is real.

PSA - I do not live in YVR. I've been asked this a couple of times recently.

I live in the suburbs a 2 hour drive from downtown. I am an out-of-town visitor to YVR.

Think of me as a "one day a month" tourist, in town for a little fun and entertainment.

Hard lesson re-learned in 2025. The best dates don't have to be over-the-top or over-long, planned more than 1 month ahead, or involve travel. Simple, consistent but imaginative, low maintenance and easy-going wins the day most times.

A steady, predictable cadence.

It's not a contest. 🤷‍♂️

2025 Review

- lost 50 lb. fat, gained 10 lb. muscle
- 15k+ steps per day
- quit alcohol, sugar
- turned 66(!) & partied with 2 special friends
- paid off all debt
- increased net worth...a lot
- settled back to sensible booking process and cadence

All considering, a successful year. On to 2026!

Anyone who knows me knows I care full-time for an elderly parent. Wishing her another healthy year in 2026. She's 95 and going strong! 🥰

2025 definitely had its up and downs but even the downs had their upsides. And the ups exceeded the downs so it was a good year by far.

2026 is already looking like a banner year! Can’t wait for all the good times planned and booked! 🥰🎆

To all who crossed my path in 2025, especially those who continue on this journey with me, you enriched my life. I wish you a heartfelt Happy New Year!

May the year bring you joy, fulfillment and success. May you be surrounded by people who enhance your days. May you make 2026 your best year ever!

We have no idea what 2025/2026 has in store for us. AGI will arrive and it will radically change our world....we will advance more in a year than we did in the prior 5 decades. Few have any clue what that really means.

ASI is truly beyond our ability to imagine, and it will come days/weeks later.

We live in a simulation because everything we see, smell, hear, taste, feel is interpreted by our brains.

We see an plane fly by. But if a dog looks up and sees the same thing, does she interpret that as a plane flying by? If not, is there really a plane flying by?

UBI makes sense. It will be expensive but that money will go back into the economy as people living in poverty suddenly have a little bit of disposable income.

It needs to be enough to end poverty but not so much that people don't still have to work.

AI will force this anyway.
