Will the new Mayor proceed with bus franchising? It’s vital to halt the decline of bus services (Fenland is second worst in the country for loss of buses.) How will it be paid for without raising the Mayor’s precept? It could help address @cambscc school transport needs. [6/6]

We discussed the legacy left by National Highways after the A14 project—dead trees, the poor condition of the A1307 and nearby bridleway, settlement of the Bar Hill embankment, and landlocked buildings. A group of councillors and officers now monitors schemes like this. [5/6]

Frustration at slow progress @CambsPboroCA to provide a safe crossing of the A10 at Ely BP roundabout. The roundabout was enlarged in 2020 with no provision for safety of pedestrians and cyclists. Five years on we have three options, and no certainty of sufficient funding. [4/6]

Positive news on walking and cycling with six more projects including Alconbury Weald to Huntingdon, a Wilbrahams school route, A505 Granta Park, Stuntney to Ely, Girton to Oakington, and Witchford to Lancaster Way. A discussion about the needs of horse-riders too. [3/6]

We noted safety improvements already in place on the Guided Busway, and agreed to proceed with further measures, including fencing and flood works. We also discussed the need for more buses to serve the demand from places like Northstowe, especially at peak times. [2/6]
