Agree people are ripping into Labour on here saying if they just went a bit more Corbyn it would be a landslide.The reality is ousting a govt in one term is near impossible (even one this bad).The last time was 1975 I believe. One year before I was born & that was FPP

It’s a meaningless metric. It’s always up under National and down under Labour. Look at the last 10 years. It’s been high under this govt since they were elected. It has no connection to the actual economy.

My worry is they don't get booted put at the next election

It is but also it’s really difficult to get a one term government. People’s natural inclination is to give them the benefit of the doubt. If the September quarter is reported as negative putting us into a technical recession that could shift momentum further to the left bloc.

All true but the polls are really tight. I think they’ll only need to show an economy in growth (it won’t be strong growth) and they squeak in. As I said I hope I’m wrong.

I just think it’s very hard to get a one term government. We haven’t had one since the mid 70s. The normies will want to give them the benefit of the doubt. I don’t think they win by much because they are awful but I think their polling will begin to tick up a little in the new year. Hope I’m wrong
