They didn't "add" $2.2tn of wealth.

They drained it.

From us. From our communities, our health services, our benefits systems, our poor, our elderly, our disabled. Our natural defence. Our vital infrastructure.

These people are vampires and they should be treated accordingly.
The world’s 500 richest people have total wealth of $11.9tn.

Their wealth up by $2.2tn in 2025. 8 billionaires accounting for a 25% of the gains.

No one becomes this rich by working.

They fund right-wing parties, oppose worker/human rights, cause more pollution than normal people.
Billionaires added record $2.2tn in wealth in 2025
Just eight billionaires accounted for a quarter of the gains, led by Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Larry Ellison and Larry Page

Let’s be absolutely fucking clear about what is going on here.

If a newspaper headline said “this must be the year Britain finally kills off Jewish ideology”, the police would not be sitting around splitting hairs about wording.

this timeline is really something. not 100% sure when I joined GPEW, think it was in May.

why do I cycle? There are many good reasons but a big one is to avoid Sadiq Khan from creeping up on me at 0200 and conducting a no knock £610 raid on my bank account. This would impoverish me.

something I kind of miss about regular tour guiding was the reaction of guests when I shared to them how we have zero constitutional rights and that people hold inherited positions of political power. they just didn't get it at all. it is an embarassment.

something I like to see: people operating their own websites and writing up cycling trips they've done. Just read someone's write up of their Hebridean way trip and it's great, so here it is.

Hebridean Way Bikepacking Adventure - A Photographer’s Dream!
The Outer Hebrides, in the far reaches of Scotland’s Western Isles, are often described as one of the most beautiful places in the UK — and arguably, the world. So it is no surprise that Landscape pho...

generative plagiarism ('ai') use I wasn't expecting; John Lewis's events listing. It's so ugly. 7 people sat around one laptop looks ridiculous.

enjoying the film hideous kinky quite a bit. Its a film based on Esther Freud's kind-of autobiography.
Julia, the protagonist, is responsible for two children in Morocco. She's obviously in messes and scrapes but is trying her hardest to make the wains feel cared for. It is endearing to watch.

nice video about cycling stuff in London (cycleways, low traffic neighbourhoods by @safecycleldn.bsky.social
Disappointing that progress up where I am isn't looking great but the improvements in and around the City of Westminster (which is a borough) are good.

unbelievable.
tbh I'm shocked it's as high it is in the greens.
We really are a nation that loves animals and hates children. These figures are so shameful (via @natacha.bsky.social).

This paper really sums up why I got my msc in development studies and then immediately swerved working in the 'industry' that i thought joining would make me one of the good guys. I hope you read it.
NEW: In this short piece (open access!) I describe how ecomodernist visions and "green growth" scenarios rely on fundamentally imperialist assumptions, and have no answer to this problem.

This, of course is the newspaper that pretends to be feminist to attack trans people but has called Trump a "feminist hero" and "feminist champion" and celebrated the overturning of the constitutional right to an abortion.

Yet another crap video from another Labour MP (Josh Simons) attacking me and "lefties."

Showing us exactly who they are.

They serve only power & weath.

British Library staff asked for a decent pay. Instead they got ‘a few money-saving present ideas’, such as ‘consider not giving presents this holiday season’. They are on strike this week. I wrote about it for @lrb.co.uk. www.lrb.co.uk/blog/2025/de...

This is an astonishing thing to learn about
Tl dr in Jan 1940 a german pilot offered to give an officer a liftto save a train trip. He got lost, crashed, and secret invasion plans got seized by Belgians. It could have completely changed the course of ww2.
