You can get the same experience with a one-year-old laptop by never closing any browser tabs

[P.S. I know what OneTab is and even use it sometimes, please nobody @ me]

I don’t like the shift to video and what it’s doing to cognition and attention spans. Okay, so you’re “influencing” and building a following but how many videos do people watch a day? How many of those do they actually internalize or remember long-term?

I refuse to believe no one wants to read.

Jackson, Nixon, Polk, Hoover and Reagan are down there toward the bottom also. I think my criteria are "not just bad on policy, but bad overall". Honestly the problem is that there isn't enough room at the bottom for at least a third of our past Presidents

whenever the subject of historical rankings of U.S. Presidents comes up, I think about this list which attempted to rank them by white supremacy & anti-Black racism specifically en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Histori...

I would put him in a Bottom 5 along with Buchanan, A. Johnson, Harding, and W. Bush.

But I also think we can't fully appreciate how bad he is without the perspective that only future historians will have.

Nissan outscoring Subaru is genuinely surprising, confusing, and depressing (I drive a 2013 Outback and may be looking to replace it in the near future despite having less than 100k miles on it)

"Kessler Syndrome" but for the information environment and maybe epistemology itself

Not too late to make 2025 the Year of the 25th Amendment

(Not because I think enough of those with the power to invoke it would do so yet, but they still should!)
