As an academic this is horrifying. Academics need to be put on alert to get clear on who is in your circles before committing your intellectual property and souls.
Those that were complicit deserve all the consequences and previous research to be questioned.

I recommend starting with this article. Epstein wanted to be perceived as a brilliant guy who found the smartest scientists and funded them.
To date, I’ve only found one woman in academia with close ties.
