Magmar's a filler pick I only went with because it's a Blue exclusive in gen 1. Sure lives up to its nickname, too. I tried making it work, but you get Magmar after Fire stops being a useful type and it needs too much investment to just be okay.

Picked Rhydon up for type coverage and he was solid the whole time. For all its defensive shortcomings, Ground/Rock is a really great offensive type combo.
